3D Animation and Motion Design

I was the 3D animator and modeler for this program. I worked on modeling and texturing the environment, props, and characters. I also rigged and animated the characters, and designed and created the Intro video.

Here are the 8 characters in this program. I worked with two other 3D Artists on the team, Jarrod Chatham and Dan Forke, on modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and rigging.

The polycounts for these characters are between 2000 and 3600 tris. These models have been through many, many rounds of iterations and adjustments, based on the needs of animation. Look how cute they are!

Below are the dance animations that Jarrod Chatham and I made. We referenced some dance moves that BT21 characters have done in the past and transformed them into the dances for this game. I wanted to make sure that the animations are very expressive and full of energy. Therefore, I went for a more snappy style of animation, which also matches the tone of the selected music tracks.

One challenge we had was to make sure that the dances all have the same rhythm, so when players drag and drop the moves on the track, it matches the beats perfectly. So we selected music tracks that are all roughly 120 bpm, and made each dance last for 4 seconds.
